Door to door means you never have to travel to a depot at either end. We collect from your address in Nigeria and deliver to your recipient in the UK.
Collection is available in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt for an additional charge that depends on the city. If you are in or near Ikorodu, dropping off at our office is free and will always be the cheaper option.
How it works
- We agree a collection time and come to your address in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt.
- Your cargo travels to our Ikorodu office to be weighed, logged and consolidated.
- It ships to the UK with the next consignment and clears customs.
- We deliver to your recipient's door, or arrange collection in Dagenham.
Is this the right service for you?
Yes, if
- Getting to Ikorodu is impractical — most of Lagos, and anywhere outside it
- You are sending on behalf of someone elderly or without transport
- You want one arrangement covering both ends
Probably not, if
- Anyone near Ikorodu, where dropping off is free and always cheaper
- The cheapest possible shipment, since collection always adds cost
What's included
- Collection in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt
- Delivery to any UK address
- Free drop-off alternative at Ikorodu
Packing for this service
Be packed before we arrive
Collection is a pickup, not a packing service. Cargo that is not ready holds up a round.
Know roughly what is in each box
We log contents at collection, and it is much quicker if you already know.
Collections outside Lagos need more notice
Abuja and Port Harcourt cargo consolidates through Ikorodu before it flies, so it needs to start earlier.
What it costs
Cargo is priced per kilogram, and the rate falls as the shipment gets heavier. Tell us what you are sending and we confirm the price before anything moves.
Before you send
UK rules on what may be imported from Nigeria are stricter than most senders expect. Meat and dairy are banned outright, dried fish is allowed up to 20kg per person, and most fresh produce needs a plant health certificate.
Check your list on what you can and cannot send, or search any single item on the food cargo page.
Common questions
- Where do you collect from?
- Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, each for an additional charge that depends on the city. Cargo collected outside Lagos travels to Ikorodu to be consolidated before it flies.
- Is door to door more expensive?
- Yes. Collection adds cost at the Nigeria end and delivery adds cost at the UK end. Dropping off at Ikorodu and having your recipient collect in Dagenham is the cheapest combination available.
- Can my recipient collect instead of waiting in?
- In the Thames Gateway area, yes — from our Dagenham collection point, by appointment. Elsewhere we deliver to the door.
- What if nobody is home?
- We contact the recipient to arrange another time. We do not leave cargo unattended — these shipments are too large and too valuable, and food should not sit outside.
