Nigeria to UK shipping prices

Per kilogram, in naira, dated

Most cargo companies on this route will not tell you the price until you message them. Of 22 competitor pages we checked, only 4 published a rate at all. This page exists because that is a bad way to treat someone who just wants to know what it costs.

Our rate table is being finalised

We would rather show you nothing than show you a number we cannot stand behind. Our published table goes up here as soon as it is confirmed. In the meantime, message us with what you are sending and we will price it properly.

What the market charges, September 2026

These are published or widely quoted rates for air cargo from Nigeria to the UK, per kilogram. They are a snapshot, not a promise, and prices move. We list them because knowing the range is the only way to tell whether a quote is fair.

WhoTypePer kgSpeed
GIG GoStandard quoted, not published Global courier ₦25,000–36,000 Express
Topship (Budget, over 10 kg) Platform ₦17,000 7–20 days

Cargonaija (all-inclusive, 10 kg min) Diaspora forwarder ₦6,900 5–7 days
Social micro-vendors quoted, not published Instagram / TikTok ₦6,800–8,500 7–10 days

Couriers charge roughly 2–3.5× what a consolidator charges. At the CBN rate when this was compiled, £1 was about ₦1,786 (parallel market ~₦1,900).

Why the gap is so wide

A courier such as DHL moves your box on its own network, to a fixed schedule, and you pay for that independence. A consolidator waits until there is enough UK-bound cargo to make up a consignment and ships it together, which spreads the cost of the flight across many senders.

If your parcel is small, light and genuinely urgent — a document, a passport, a contract — a courier may well be the right answer, and we will say so. For a suitcase of clothes or a carton of foodstuffs going to family, it rarely is.

What a price should include

What no honest quote can include is whatever UK customs decides to charge on arrival. Anyone who tells you a food shipment is guaranteed duty-free is guessing. See what you can and cannot send.

Questions we get asked about price

How much does it cost to ship from Nigeria to the UK?
Air cargo is priced per kilogram, and the rate falls as the shipment gets heavier. Across the market in September 2026, consolidators charged roughly ₦6,800–10,000 per kilogram while couriers charged ₦13,000–36,000. Contact us for a quote on your specific shipment.
Why is a courier two to three times the price?
A courier moves your box on its own, on a fixed schedule, with its own network end to end. A consolidator waits until there is enough cargo bound for the UK to fill a consignment, then ships it together. You trade a few days of speed for roughly half the price per kilogram.
Is the price quoted in naira or pounds?
We quote in naira, because that is what senders in Nigeria are paying in. At the time of our last market check, £1 was about ₦1,786 at the CBN rate. Exchange rates move, so treat any pound figure as indicative.
Does the price include delivery to a UK address?
Door-to-door pricing includes delivery to your recipient. Drop-off pricing does not, and is cheaper for that reason. Ask us which applies to your shipment before you pay.
What does the price not include?
Anything UK customs charges on arrival is separate and outside our control. We will tell you honestly if we think an item is likely to attract a charge or be refused entry.

Weight and size (optional — helps us quote accurately)
Light but bulky cargo is charged on the space it takes up, so sizes help.
